A visit from my sister

We had a long weekend with my big sister Amber and my neice Sami.  They flew in from Georgia to meet the boys...and to spend time with us.  Sami was so sweet with her new cousins and loved helping us take care of the boys.  She helped with feedings, calming the boys by singing to them, and playing with them.  I loved listening to her talk to the boys.  She has her own baby talk voice she uses and would grab their hand and say "Oh, look at those tiny little finger" then kiss them.  It melted my heart watching her love on them!  Out of the blue she would say "Auntie Courtney, I really like your boys."  We tried to have lots of activities planned to keep Sami entertained while she was with us and to make her feel special too.  As much of a helper as she was, she is still an active 4 year old.  She is such a fun kid and I wish we got to see her more often!

Sami was so good about holding the bottles for the boys.  She also mastered knowing who was who all weekend!
Our first day was spent with me and Sami taking a 4 hour nap.  Luckily Aunt Amber was up for feeding the boys alone (she's a pediatrician so that stuff should come naturally, right?)  Since Sami was well rested we headed to the park for the afternoon.

She loved having Uncle Scott home from work for play time.  She would take him back to our spare room and shut the door so they could play.  Mainly she wanted to build 'forches', I guess this was a cross between a fort and a porch?  Whatever it was she wore Scott out!  She came back in the living room to play after a few hours and I went to find Scott passed out.
Of course this pillow became a gate to their fort.  She tried to get me to climb through it but I had to explain to her I am a little too big to fit through that arch!

Poor Uncle Scott.  This is how we found him...passed out with toys still around him!
On Friday we took Sami and the boys to the pumpkin patch.  They had a jump house, a hay ride, and a petting zoo, which Sami loved!

Poor boys.  Calvin's eyes are covered up by the hat and Caleb isn't looking very happy.  Oh well, this is still a great picture of us.

This was Sami's first hay ride ever!  She was so excited she could barely sit still.

They are so sweet when they're sleeping!  I just love their gigantic cheeks!

Our big surprise for Sami was Friday night.  Bartlesville has a fantastic kiddie park with 25 cent rides that was open for a Halloween weekend while Sami was here.  We took her and let her ride as many rides as she wanted.  The first stop was to get her face painted- of course she picked a pink and purple unicorn!

Then it was off to the pirate ship.  We could hear Sami laughing and screaming from the ground.  She wanted to ride it all by herself like a big kid!

Then she spotted the roller coaster so we waited in the crazy long line for that one.  Auntie Courtney rode right next to Sami.  I loved hearing her laugh and scream on the ride!  She would try to keep her arms up but when we came to a big turn or hill they would pop down and grab onto the handle bar.  Here is her really excited face while talking about how fast it went!

Scott and Amber wore the boys so I could ride with Sami on some rides.  Of course she is a big girl and wanted to ride alone on most of them!

We rode some other rides and then it started to get too cold so we headed home.  Saturday we hung out in the morning while Scott played with Sami.  Then it was football time and no more play time!  We took Sami to the mall the second half of the Arkansas game so Scott could watch without getting disturbed.

Then before we knew it our weekend was over.  Sunday we got a few pictures of the girls with Calvin and Caleb and then took them back to the airport.

We can't wait until Christmas when we get to see Sami and Amber again!
