It's actually been a little over a week since we got home with the boys but time is FLYING by! I can't believe my babies are already 13 days old! We haven't really been counting how many diapers we have gone through but it is alot. Especially since both boys think it is hilarious to poop again right after we change them. They really get a kick out of making us work!
Here's a peak at our ritual before every feeding. Calvin is 'awake' and ready to eat. He doesn't actually wake up to eat, usually he is still sleeping and falls asleep after a few minutes. We have to wait to change his diaper in the middle of feeding so that he wakes up enough to eat. He usually gets wide eyed after his tummy is full and he'll look around for awhile. Caleb on the other hand needs a few minutes to himself.

| Whew, that was a work out. Ok, Caleb is ready to eat! |
We have also had a few big steps in our kiddos lives this week. One big boy had a very significant event. Calvin lost his....

| Wait Mom, don't tell them. This is so embarrassing! Please don't tell everyone. |
Calvin lost his umbilical cord and has the cutest little belly button at 10 days! He is now a candidate for a real bath. We are just waiting on brother's cord to fall off so they can enjoy a real bath on the same night. Caleb's is hanging on by a thread so I'm pretty sure that will happen tonight!

Both boys LOVE to touch their faces. They strike the most dramatic poses with their hands and it is so much fun to watch. I can't wait until we get their newborn pics taken Thursday! They are also starting to smile randomly and it is beautiful. It will be so much fun when they are smiling in response to things.
We're also getting more sleep in our house. We were on a 2 hour feeding schedule for a few days when we got home from the hospital. Caleb has a little acid reflux and wasn't wanting to eat. He got a little dehydrated and needed some medicine. So to manage his pain we started feeding small frequent meals (1-2 ounces every 2 hours). This meant Calvin also got small frequent meals. We had their one week check-up at the doctor's on Friday and both boys are just a couple ounces below their birth weight! YEAH!!!! We got to switch to a more normal feeding schedule as long as Caleb stays feeling well. So now they're eating every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night (if they sleep that long!).
We started out having the boys sleep in our room when we got home from the hospital. But with two babies and all the noises we weren't sleeping enough. Friday night we moved them to their cribs in the nursery. We thought we had the monitor up loud enough to wake us up when they cried. However, my Mom's room was much closer to the nursery and she heard them (her mommy ears are much more developed than mine!). Scott and I slept for 7 straight hours without hearing them once. Ooops! We turned the volume WAY up the next night and now we
usually beat Grandma to the boys!
I go back to the doctor on Friday and completely expect to be released from 'bedrest'. My blood pressure has been dropping so it is certainly out of the high zone! I can't wait to get to go on a walk outside and enjoy this lovely fall weather!
The boys are just darling! So Caleb is the chubbier one? Can't wait to see more pictures of them side by side. Glad you are feeling better.
