I actually drafted this to be a 15 month update but then Christmas came and work got busy and the boys just recovered from a stomach bug and a case of ear infections/tonsillitis. We're ready for a break from being busy and sick!!! The boys recently moved up to the toddler room at school and their vocabulary is exploding right now. It is so much fun to see how much they are learning to say and play with. And my goodness we have so fun watching and playing with them! They are just boys full of pure joy!
So, at 16 months..
You love bananas, apples, peas, cheese, milk, beans, nuts, yogurt, oranges, really anything! Although with being sick this past week you are both acting more picky with food.
You use the following words: Mama, Dada, milk, ball, more, hi, bye, up, Abby, boo, Pop, Papa, book, look, there, that, this, touch, bear, bite, night-night, nap-nap, snack, cracker, thank you, please, sock, shoe, and almost anything we ask you to try to say!
You know a cow goes "moo', sheep say "Baabaa", horse goes "neigh neigh", dinosaur/bear/lion goes "roar", dogs go "ruff ruff", cats go "meow", chickens go "bak bak" (and you make the wing motions with this one!)
You give your brother a kiss and hug on command
You will go get baby Jesus from the nativity when we ask you where he is
You know how to open doors. They had to install a child proof lock in your old classroom at school because a set of twins had escaped and was running down the hallway giggling (they watched the whole ordeal of course!).

You like playing chase with us.
You love taking medicine and fight over who gets it first!
Three sets of molars have popped through the gums!
You know what gentle means when you're touching something.
You are incredibly gentle petting dogs and they actually enjoy you!

-You play with puzzles stacking toys for up to 30 mins fully concentrated
-You love your stuffed snoopy
-When you are looking for something you hold your hands out to the side in the air (like we do when we ask you where something is at)
-If we ask if you are ready to go to bed you start waving goodbye to everyone and say 'Night-Night'
-Favorite Song- Jingle bell rock (this always calls for excited feet stomping)
-You get excited about something and start stomping your feet really fast. Sometimes you do this while holding your arms behind your back and it looks like you're clogging! When we pick you up from your room you squeal and start stomping your feet really fast in excitement!
-When I try to tell you no you will simply ignore me and continue doing what you're doing but if I call your name when you're playing you immediately look up at me...humm. In the past month you have actually started listening and correcting your actions. Consistency does pay off!
-When you read yourself the Hungry Caterpillar book you point to each hole in the food and count by saying "That, that, this, that, this this this, etc"

-You get very attached to stuffed animals and throw fits if we take away your lovie or bear
-You like to pull bags around the house, especially your diaper bag
-You jabber all the time
-You love singing to music and often sing while we're in the car
-You love running
-If we tell you no you'll try to do it again and watch our face until we say no again! Oh my you're testing limits!
-You love reading books and always want to be read to! Your favorite book right now it a puppy book.
-You love dogs. When we are out in public you always want to get close and watch them.
-You are overly attached to your Pop and PaPa.
